Nikkii Mesa

Hello, my name is Nikkii Mesa and it is my privilege to be able to serve as the Principal of Ptarmigan Ridge Elementary. My goal is to connect, inspire, and empower all of our students to thrive both academically and socially. To do this, we provide our students with a safe learning environment by making personal connections to engage students in authentic learning experiences. 

Orting has a special place in my life as I am a K-12 senior and graduated from the Orting School District in 1999. After graduation, I went to Pacific Lutheran University where I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Education and had the privilege to student teach at Orting Elementary School in a second grade classroom. I have had the opportunity to teach in a variety of grade levels ranging from 2nd to 6th grade in the Kent, Clover Park, and Bethel school districts. Additionally, I have served students in a variety of roles such as an intervention specialist, Teacher on Special Assignment, and Middle School Assistant Principal. Returning to Orting is the best gift I have been given throughout my career. I am so excited to be "home" and to have the opportunity to serve the community that raised me.
